Art IV week twelve...

Art IV has done all the prep work: planning, photographing, lighting, reviewing value, complements, and intensity, toning the canvas, and practicing our color palette. It is now time to paint our toys.

Art III week twelve...

We will spend Monday and Tuesday completing our charcoal drawings. We will CRITIQUE on MONDAY,  NOVEMBER 5th.

We will also work in our sketchbooks this week. Our focus will be on using a STRATA compositional format and making STENCILS.

For extra credit, tell me who designed the Che Guevera stencil.

Art IV week eleven...

Art IV students will complete an exercise in their sketchbook where they must match color swatches using primary plus black and white acrylic paint.

We will look at the artwork of local painter Beth Edwards as inspiration for our next project: an acrylic painting using toys as the subject.

AP Art week eleven...

It is time to begin the concentration section of our portfolios. We will complete some brainstorming exercises the first part of the week and then each student will begin working independently by Wednesday.

Art III week eleven...

This week we will start a black and white charcoal drawing using colored paper. Our subject is white objects: a bowl of eggs, baby shoes or a man's white collared shirt.
Students want to use shape and value to create their drawings.
